Richard Dawkins, arguably the most well-known atheist in the English-speaking world, visits OU on Friday. His talk, "The Purpose of Purpose", is at McCasland Field House at 7 p.m.
A Christian Student Group SOCAPS (Society of Christian Apologists and Philosophers) purchased a full-page ad in The Daily on Wednesday to attempt to discredit Dawkins before he arrives. The ad contains quotes from other atheists and Darwinists like Michael Ruse and Allen Orr, both of whom visited OU this year for the Darwin 2009 celebration.
So what do you think? Are their criticisms of Dawkins' latest book "The God Delusion" legitimate? Does Dawkins, a former Oxford zoologist, have any legitimate stake in the argument for or against the existence of God?
Let's hear your thoughts.
