One of the stories I was working on this week was the OU’s You Tube Channel.

As I was looking into this site, I discovered an awesome opportunity for any student who is interested in film or just wants a free camera.

The OU You Tube website gets its videos from REEL students. These OU students are given a $200 flip camera and get to run around and video whatever they want.

REEL students can cover campus events, interview students or professors, or even just give their own campus tour. The best part about being a REEL student is that after you make five videos, you get to keep the camera.

Students don’t even need experience editing the film. The You Tube channel takes care of everything. All students have to do is shoot five films about the campus and voila-a free camera.

As of now, the OU You Tube sight is finding REEL students by word of mouth. Any student who wants more filming experience and wouldn’t mind a free flip camera, should definitely take the OU You Tube Channel up on their offer.
