State Sen. Todd Lamb, R-Edmond, is Oklahoma’s 16th elected lieutenant governor, winning by 62.64 percent of the vote from 1,861 of the 2,229 precincts. With hopes of making Oklahoma more competitive with Texas concerning economic development, Lamb said he looked at surrounding states’ per capita income to see how Oklahoma stacked up. READ MORE

Oklahoma will conduct all its business in English if voters vote yes for State Question 751 during the general election Nov. 2. Based on Rep. Randy Terrill’s House Joint Resolution 1042, which passed through the Legislature in spring 2009, SQ 751 will amend the Oklahoma Constitution to require all state “official actions” be conducted in English, unless federal law requires differently, if passed. READ MORE

According to ballot language, State Question 744 would set the minimum average amount Oklahoma must annually spend on common schools to match the average spending of the surrounding states within three years. READ MORE

City of Norman voters will determine today whether to increase the city’s water and sanitation rates. If the water and sanitation propositions pass, a residential sanitation bill will increase from $14.50 a month to $15.50 in 2011, $16.50 in 2012 and $17.50 in 2013. READ MORE
