I recently spoke to an OU student who described an experience she had one night with a guy she had been “hooking up” with but hadn’t had sex with. On the night of her 21st birthday, she went out drinking with him. She could remember very little from the night, and when she went to his house, she blacked out. When she’s drunk, she said she often blacks out at places where she feels safe. She said that she woke up at 6 a.m., still a little drunk, to find him having sex with her. READ MORE

OU has done a good job of providing dozens upon dozens of services and organizations that help the student population manage their stressful and newly adult lives. They provide us with organizations ranging from Career Services to student fitness (the Huston Huffman Center) to Housing and Food Services. But there is one service the university does not offer that I believe is badly needed: a boyfriend/girlfriend rental service. READ MORE

All of my life it seems like I have heard people complain about living in Oklahoma. Some of these complaints are legitimate (the weather is weird), but I think that Oklahoma is far more intriguing than many people give it credit for. Our diverse and at times tragic history suggests that we have been, and are, a dynamic, interesting state. READ MORE
