Things to do this weekend in Norman, OKC
by   |  February 9, 2012  |

Go see the Ms. Black OU Pageant. It is free! Who doesn’t like free? It is Saturday, Feb. 11 in the Meacham Auditorium.

Get a group and go dancing at Redneck Yacht Club in Oklahoma City. There is a live band and lots of country dancing!

To chilly to go out? Visit Fred Jones Jr. Museum of Art and see the 98th Annual School of Art & Art History Student Exhibition, It closes Feb. 12 so time is limited. This is a neat and interactive student designed exhibit.

Attend Friday’s concert at the Opolis benefitting Children’s Miracle Network.. It will feature local bands Pretty Black Chains, Crown Imperial, as well at Fort Worth band Burning Hotels. Doors open at 9, and the show should start at 10. The show is free, but there is a suggested donation of $8 at the door that will go directly to Children’s Miracle Network. We think it sounds like a great night and a great way to help out!

Beat the crowds and celebrate Valentine’s Day this weekend. Go have a nice romantic evening with no class the next day to shorten the night. After dinner, the plaza district is having a Love on the Plaza celebration Friday night from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. There will be Valentine making, live music and other local attractions. So, bundle up and hit the plaza for an evening of love.

Well...for many of you ladies out there, the long awaited arrival of “The Vow” is over. We’re not ashamed to admit we’re excited for it. It opens Friday, so take a date as an early valentine, or gather up the girls for a night out.

Saturday is the annual Pink and Black Ball. We’re excited to attend! With a live jazz band from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. and a DJ for, 10 p.m. to 12 a.m., it’s sure to be a blast. There is food, photo booths, and a chocolate fountain—need we say more?
