Dine at Sam Noble's Redbud Cafe this Valentine’s Day
by   |  February 7, 2012  |

OU Housing and Food Services is hosting an inaugural Valentine’s Day dinner to highlight one of its lesser used campus restaurants.

The dinner will take place at 6 p.m. Tuesday at Sam Noble Museum of Natural History’s Redbud Café, according to a press release.

The museum was not built with a restaurant in mind, said Zac Kulsrud, OU Housing and Food Services marketing specialist.

“We are trying to change the image of the Redbud and do some creative things,” he said.

Food Services is revising the menu of the café and aiming to promote the space to rent for future events, he said.

OU students, faculty and staff can make a reservation to attend the dinner, which will feature a five-course meal by OU executive chef Curtis Gregoire, Kulsrud said.

“It is a real opportunity to watch an OU chef put on a show,” Kulsrud said.

The cost of the dinner is $60 per couple, and attendees are encouraged to book early to guarantee their spot, according to a press release.

Only 18 tables are available at this event because of the lack of space at the café, Kulsrud said.

The available reservation times are 6, 6:30, 7 and 7:30 p.m. As seating permits, reservations will be accepted until noon Thursday, according to a press release. To make a reservation contact University Catering representative Bobby Weaver at 405-325-1011.
