OU’s College of Law has selected its first four inductees for the newly established hall of fame Order of the Owl.

Those being inducted into the hall of fame include former American Bar Association President William G. Paul, OU College of Law Board of Visitors co-chairman W. DeVier Pierson, William J. Ross and OU College of Law’s first black graduate and civil rights leader Ada Lois Sipuel Fisher, according to a press release.

Speaking of the achievements of these inductees, OU President David Boren said in a press release, “The university is proud to have the opportunity to honor graduates from the College of Law who have been outstanding stewards of our legal system and great public-spirited citizen leaders.”

The Order of the Owl, established by OU College of Law dean Joseph Harroz Jr., seeks to honor individuals who demonstrate leadership and service through incredible accomplishments in their careers.

“We are proud to have these individuals as graduates of OU Law, and we induct them into our hall of fame as examples for future generations to follow,” Harroz said.

The induction ceremony dinner is scheduled for 7 p.m. Nov. 8 in the Oklahoma Memorial Union’s Molly Shi Boren Ballroom.
