If the past few days have been a blur of cabin fever, bust out on Monday night for an evening of rock at the Conservatory.
Stardeath and White Dwarfs, Colourmusic and The City Lives will be headlining a Haiti Relief Benefit show.
For only $8, attendees can expect a great show as well as the satisfaction of knowing that they are helping with relief efforts in Haiti.
Each band brings a unique sound to the lineup. Stardeath and White Dwarfs, perhaps better known as Wayne Coyne's nephew's band, is a psychedelic/prog-rock/experimental group. The City Lives has a more mainstream pop-rock sound. Colourmusic sounds like a more listener-friendly Stardeath; that is, the prog-rock and psychedelic elements aren't as overhwelming. All three bands are based in Oklahoma, and are sure to provide a memorable, fun night of music and help for Haiti.
The show takes place at the Conservatory in Oklahoma City. It begins at 8:00 p.m., and doors open at 7:00. Tickets are $8; a portion of service charges and proceeds will be donated to the American Red Cross.

You couldn't pay me to listen to The City Lives again. The last set consisted of 10% God-awful trite music, 90% douchebag of the century, self-important, non-funny talking interludes/requests to buy their "merch" from a lead singer who seems to be chasing his stardust dreams of becoming a drunken, pseudo rock and roll, living cliche. At least be GOOD if you are going to talk about yourself so much. I've never been more disappointed when a band announced they have "two more songs".
What a letdown after All the Day Holiday played their hearts out. That drummer is the real deal Holyfield.
