Daniel Chargois, mechanical engineering senior, remembers the entire stadium screaming as SoonerVision broadcast the first kick-off of the OU football season.
“I love going to the first game of the season,” Chargois says.
Chargois also remembers he loved the dorms as a freshman. He loved the fact that there was always someone to meet and something to do. That’s why Chargois is a Resident Adviser.
“Any open door, I’d walk through it and introduce myself,” he says. “I want to be a part of that for as long as I can take it, because RAs do a lot of behind the scenes work.”
Chargois says freshmen shouldn’t be afraid to make friends in the residence halls and ask for help.
“There are so many people that have been in your position that can make your first year so much better,” he says. “There’s so much knowledge to gain by asking others around you.”
Sharing his knowledge, Chargois says freshman shouldn’t overload themselves.
“Do not under any circumstances take an 8 a.m. class because it’s similar to when you went to class in high school,” he says. “You’ll still sleep through it.”
